Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) was an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. The first Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers for most of her career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It's also available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the nation's crisis, which swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than one century. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first big role. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
