Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy of Domme. From a very young age, both her dental surgeon parents and her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theater and drama. It was this love that overshadowed her initial wish to be primatologist. She rose to prominence as an actress in her early years and achieved huge success. It was only at the age of 1999 after which she began acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou participated in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church in her youth and was brought up Catholic. But she is now separating herself from her Catholic upbringing. In addition to her acting profession, she has also pursued modeling. The model was for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". She also has a serious passion for photography. She recently exhibited her work at the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her emergence on the scene with Amelie. There are also several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie made international waves on the screen and also won numerous awards across all over the world. It is the top-grossing French film to be released in the United States. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in numerous films, which included British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
